Teas

HERBAL TEAS are technically called TISANES because they are made from BOTANICALS.  They do not come from the leaves of a Tea Bush …a Camellia sinensis bush.  Since all Botanicals have “actions” associated with them, that is phytonutrients that they supply, traditionally, TISANES have been used for their remedy properties as well as for their flavor. They are caffeine-free and are soothing and nourishing to the body.

It is important to store your HERBAL TEAS correctly for the purpose of preserving their flavor, color and aroma.  If cared for correctly, most loose leaf HERBAL TEALS will remain stable and tasty for up to 1 year.

HERBAL TEAS are very sensitive to fluctuations in temperature, moisture and light.  They come to you from Yard Woman in tightly sealed lined brown food grade bags and should be stored in a temperature controlled environment with limited direct light, heat or moisture.  If possible keep your tea stored in the food grade kraft bag that it comes to you in or in a dark brown jar with a tight lid.  Ideal storage is in a dry pantry, cupboard or closet.

HERBAL TEAS are typically divided into two classes:  Infusion or Decoction

INFUSION:  An herbal tea made from leaves, flowers and light botanicals.  Place 1 to 2
